Not so sure about this. I believe Intel discounts its processors based on customer order volume. That would mean now Dell gets the largest discount. The combo of HP/CPQ may qualify them for larger discounts than they receive independently and may cost Intel some margin.

I would guess the only reason why Intel voted its HWP/CPQ shares in favor of the merger was to show support for two of its major customers.... but probably not what they really wanted.
