when they speak monolithically of 'the Palestinians' is, once you weed out the planners & leaders, and establish a profile of the average suicide bomber or attacker, you've basically got a poorly educated street-tough teenager.

I certainly don't disagree. And that's why permitting such a group of thugs as represented by Arafat and his crew to retain power and "guide" these ignorant 'yutes is the height of insanity.

And it will be interesting to see if permitting Arafat to leave is the first step to opening the door to alternative leadership on the West Bank and Gaza.

Someone that understands that economic development, and not the pursuit of ideological or nationalistic jingoism, is the key to truly developing a Palestinian state.

A state that recognizes that living amongst Jews in a civil manner can be more economically lucrative than constantly threatening them with extinction.
