I was refering primarily the event history, and to a lesser extent a record of police calls about the abuse. Those police calls do not always result in charges let alone convictions. Often enough such murderers do have convictions or at least more then one abuse charge, but I am not sufficently confident that the statement "usually there is a long record of domestic abuse charges (or convictions) before the murder in such cases".
