i disagree. the infrastructure exists, just the companies went out of business. the in-ground fiber optic lines can be bought on the cheap by the biggies. video on demand has been viewed as a possible "killer-app" that could jump start the demand for broadband and turn a perceived glut into a shortfall of capacity. otoh, video on demand has failed to take off for many year, and no clear reason why it should. larry
