People got caught up in the supposed momentum (ramp job). They looked at the charts and saw what they wanted to see, but that's complacency, I suppose.

Since being wrong about the future direction of the market doesn't appear to be possible in TA discussions, I'll risk an off-topic observation: They were wrong.
