I probably agree with you as far as sloppy punishment, meaning punishment that is not careful and is to likely to convict the wrong person.

Which of course leaves us with questions like - How careful do we have to be to be sufficiently careful and not sloppy? and How careful are the various jurisdictions in the US at this time in capital cases?

I think you might have one opinion about these two questions. Laz or JC might have another. Mine might be somewhere in between which might be the biggest reason why Laz and JC are for the death penalty, you are against, and I am pulling out splinters that I got from being on the fence for so long.
