I still carry a pic of my lab (tessa) that I lost over 25 years ago. My current dachshund/terrier mix is coming up on 13 and has gone deaf, so I'll face your situation one of these months. Best friends are dearly missed, but try to focus on all the good times you had together, rather than the vacuum in your gut. I know that will be hard, but I'm sure you feel blessed for the time you had together - and celebrating the memories of her life and love will give you some measure of comfort.
