Andrew,
It was my understanding that SVGI actually manufactured many of their own optics as opposed to many of the foreign litho makers which were dependent on supplies from subcontractors. Is this correct or am I confused?

Here is a piece from the most recent 10K.

The Company believes that SVGL has substantial technological expertise and process knowledge in developing Deep UV step and scan photolithography systems.

SVGL has developed internal capability to design and fabricate optical lenses, mirrors and coatings. This includes a combination of purchased and proprietary optical metrology using phase measuring interferometry to precisely measure and test the optical elements it produces.

Micrascan incorporates both mirrors and lenses in its optical system, which the Company believes allows for a higher power optical projection system, is less sensitive to environmental variants and
accommodates the use of light sources with broader spectral bandwidth (thanrefractive optics), with the additional benefits of reduced running cost and increased reliability.*

On the other hand later in the 10K they do admit that the "raw materials" required for some of their optics are available from only one supplier.

What exactly does "raw materials" mean, and do you know who this supplier is?

Thank you,

joby
