Mindmeld:

I hope you hang around and continue to fuss over Cisco's economic value. I have appreciated yours and John Shannon's substantive contributions. It is all well and good for Jeff Tarver to say fear and greed drives the market (and dismiss your work as irrelevant), but that doesn't give a person any kind of clue at all what kind of long term risk he or she is taking when purchasing Cisco at a particular price. In my opinion, anyone calling themselves a long term investor ought to have some clue or estimate regarding the economic returns their purchase might produce.

Now if you were a trader with market fear and greed indicators to get you in and out of Cisco at particular points depending on your fear and greed meter, that would be a different thing. But then, you would be called a market timer/trader rather than an investor, wouldn't you?

Best regards,

Huey
P.S. I haven't had time to go over yours and John's numbers yet since your intitial free cash flow calculations, but plan to when I get a break from the real job. Thanks for sharing your work.
