But then the question is - what plants do we keep? Surely you wouldn't suggest we need all of them. What about the fact that they can't compete? Could that imply that they can't compete on quality as well as price? If that were to be the case then we are exposed already due to the quality gap. Should the military have its' own state of the art steel plant in that case? If they were to do that then the rest of us could enjoy the cheaper and better steel from abroad.
