Joe, >What do you mean by "these"? There was some talk about servers. Is that what you mean?

I meant today's microprocessors, which are as complex as yesterday's mainframes.

AMD still has a huge amount left to do on the Hammers. Anyone that says or implies that it's anything remotely close to in the bag for Q4, for example, for Hammer to launch, is dreaming.

>>What is scheduled for Q4 2002 is a single processor desktop CPU called ClawHammer. Are you saying that expecting Clawhammer based desktops in Q4 2002 is dreaming?

What I said was that it isn't in the bag for Q4. I didn't say it wouldn't be done. What gets me is so many people here (not you) think that if it's on a schedule, it will be done. AMD, and Intel have slipped a bunch of projects over the years. Make that especially AMD lately. I will never say that Intel will clobber AMD because of this or that reason as adamantly as some here. Murphy's Law and all that. These projects are huge and a bazillion things can happen. Some people over here should practice mania control.
