Some comments on the potential merger (from someone who knows the players in the industry VERY WELL)... Message 17226344 regards, -Scott btw, Jerome I am not assuming there is a final decison on the merger -- yet...I own no HP or CPQ shares...Yet, I have some grad school friends at HP and they are very upset with the management and are considering other options. Its hard for me to believe that the HP board felt that buying Compaq for $20 Billion would be the best way to re-vitalize the firm and compete going forward. I hope they surprise the critics.
