Not a very comfortable theory...if you happen to be Czechoslovakia. Also a costly one; the Czechs could have been good allies had they retained their defenses in the Sudatenland. As many historians have pointed out, Munich gave Hitler the clear message "the democracies are weak, you may do as you please" and Kristallnacht followed soon after.

Let's hope people can get their heads together before cutting off one of their own arms this time around. According to polls, Americans pretty well understand what's going on, while Israel would have to be actually destroyed to convince the Europeans. Tribal feelings aside, I do not believe that letting Israel be destroyed just to prove a point is in America's best interest.
