Waverider: I haven't followed the nine basic TA rules, it seems. So I'm being hauled in for reprogramming tonight. I hope the rules demonstrate an effort to develop stricter standards in TA for myself.

1. Always believe. Never question.
2. Always go long. Short-selling is not permitted. It's counterproductive, wrongheaded and unpatriotic.
3. Always make predictions about the market. Keep them as vague and ambiguous as possible. If necessary, revise them so they're always correct in hindsight. Drop out of sight for a while if the revisions become too strained, too untenable.
4. Denounce bearish posts. Disparage bearish posters. Denigrate bearish viewpoints.
5. Semi-retire from trading if the market plummets (because of unprincipled short-sellers driving the market down).
6. On down days, take out your frustrations on skeptics and nonbelievers (bears).
7. Demand that everyone think alike. TA stands for Think Alike.
8. Wear a saffron robe. Seek the adoration of TA newbies.
9. Remember: The only qualification for being a self-anointed expert in TA is a big ego.
