Re: but convincing these guys to go along is not a question of life and death for AMD. Yeah, but it is life or death for Intel. Without the margins they make on that small percentage of parts that they get to sell for big bucks, Intel is in for big trouble. If AMD gets enough of a foothold in the server space to make Intel drop its prices to something less outrageous than $800 for a chip that costs $50 to make, Intel won't be able to cover huge losses from its "other" businesses. No wonder why we're getting such hysterical posts about hammer from the Intel "truth" squads.
