Christine, you write beautifully, but what I see underlying nearly everything you say is a "glass half empty" it's just not in my nature to be a pessimist.

Let's see...The american farmer is the most productive and efficient in the world. I don't see you refute that. But then you say they rape the land and make it unusable. How can that be Christine? Being an efficient farmer means doing both. Caring for the land and making it produce as much agriculture as you can. People from around the world aren't showing American farmers how to be effective. We are showing them. I'm proud of the American Farmer. I see you are not.

That's not to say, I am totally oblivious to the problems associated with chemicals. Once again, balance is what's needed. Farmers all across America understand that. To suggest otherwise is to ignore what's on your dinner plate, and how inexpensive it is.

About the other issue you bring up "the ozone hole and all the rest"
Once again I believe you see a "glass half empty" I just do not subscribe to the fact that the world is doomed to extinction unless something is done today. Whether it be the Ozone, overpopulation, the melting ice caps or whatever else.
I see an American and a world with the downing of the Berlin Wall and the freeing of hundreds of millions of people, entering a time of unbridled wealth and opportunity. Not of cataclysmic negative events.

I commented on, and read each one of the articles presented here. I wonder Christine, did you honestly read just one of the links I provided? In them you will read many eminent scientist in those fields, dispute much of what was said here.

About my church and religion. I think it's kinda strange how someone who said only three short months ago. God and religion shouldn't be discussed here. Always wants to try and use that as some sort of a statement that I don't care or something.

Michael

One thing I forgot to add. American business is to a large degree what has made America the greatest source of positive change the world has ever known. Why don't you ever mention the environmental lobby groups, which funnel million into campaign coffers?
