>Hopefully we won't have to pull an Afghanistan, unless the Palestinian state supports terrorism just as much as the Taliban.

You sure they don't now? There was one formal terrorist group active in Afghanistan- Al-Qaeda. Let's see how many terrorist groups are working in the Palestinian territories-

1. Islamic Jihad (carried out Wednesday's attack)
2. Hizbollah
3. Hamas
4. Fatah
5. Tanzim
6. PLO
7. Peoples' Front for the Liberation of Palestine
8. Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine
9. Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine- General Assembly (yes, 7,8 & 9 are different groups)
10. Al-Aqsa Brigade (carried out yesterday's attack)
11. Al-Qaeda (yes, them too)

I think that's it, though I may be forgetting one or two.

So, Palestine may in fact support terrorist MORE than the Taliban.

>More likely, Palestine will be publicly against terrorism, even if the leaders do a half-assed job in combatting it.

See, Arafat has already told his people to ignore the things he says to the public to assuage the West, and only pay attention to the written messages he sends out. He's acknowledged that the West will force him to say things he doesn't want to say. He entirely supports terrorism. His government rewards the families of suicide bombers (I belive the sum is $2000, a heckuva a lot for a Palestinian family), names streets after suicide bombers, and he himself calls those bombers heroes. That's less than doing a half-assed job combatting it. That's supporting it.

>At least that would keep us from going in there with daisy-cutters.

Why would we have to go in? We should just untie Israel's hands and let them do what they have to- we've made them have to do a half-assed job combatting terrorism. It's time to call for the full ass!
