Yes, recently msft has flatlined and I expect that it will remain this way for quite some time, but in all fairness, msft was one of the best performers if you go back to it's ipo. The earlier days of msft were it's higher growth days. That's over and so the stock won't perform like it did in the past.
yes, and i've said many times that MSFT was a good stock in more ways than one back before 1995.... but in about 1995-96, management started to change their attitude... they went from a win attitude by making sure everyone wins around them, including customers and competitors.... to one of its "us" against the world.... and that change started to show up in their stock price about 3 years later.... and the bull market brought it up to where it should have never been....
but the fact remains that MSFT was a good stock before 1995, i didn't notice anything wrong even until about 1997 .... in 1998 it was clear what was going on.... in all their ways of interacting with people other than themselves (employees)...
(now to be clear, MSFT might not have had a Win attitude by making sure everyone else won before 1995, if they didn't, they didn't have enough market power back then to do anything about a negative attitude... but i will give them the benefit of the doubt, and say they had a win, win attitude before then)
anyone who decides to win, by making everyone else suffer/and or cheating will never win in the end... and for the last almost four years, that has been proven out.... not only in antitrust hearings, but in a shareholder's stock price....
