Chretien made his famous phone call to Bush (where he set him straight LOL) re: the lumber duty when it first broke and the line was something like : You want our gas but you don't want our lumber ? Well I'm still waiting... but Stan's point is good. It's the 'perception in the market'. That might also explain the weakness in coal despite the NG and oil strength. As far as driving Alberta away, I think they'd be more likely to just go it with BC than ever join the US. One of the most defining factors of a Canadian is 'not being American' ;o) regards Kastel
