I Tell You:: "Use earthly wealth to gain friends for yourselves, so that when it is gone, you will be welcomed into eternal dwellings."

Grampa I am interested in other opinions. This is in the parable of the unjust steward.

Was Christ speaking cynically of the unjust stewards conniving. Actually the unjust steward did deeds illegal while it would have been almost impossible to find him guilty in a court of law. He really straddled the fence. He covered up his deeds with a lie; but yet the master had to pat him on the back as if to say; you did well, just as I taught you !.
Is the master God? Could God have commended the unjust steward.

A wonderful pastor and well respected in his community was remembered by a local waitress as never having left her a tip. The pastor assumed it was pastoral gratuity due him rather than waitress gratuity due her. Did the pastor use his earthly wealth wisely and if not the mannon being the least in the kingdom of heaven to be faithful over could you assume that he was faithful over the more important things in God's kingdom.....

Opinions welcome......
