I did not mean to imply that the U.S. is the only one country that was dogged by scandals.

But certainly, the U.S. appears to have had more than its share of scandals than any other country. And it is not really surprising as so many entities possess, or are vested, with much power ---- so much so that sometimes they tend to function as a law unto themselves.
