Your comment about "find myself encouraged to make very foolish trades with the NQ" is a very honest insight.

I have found in my trading that significantly changing my commission structure (Cybertrader to IB) changed my trading. At times I lapse into more reckless trading with the reduced commissions. I believe that to be successful I need to more methodically trade based on X happens on the chart I do Y, regardless of security, commissions etc.

What is it about NQ vs QQQ that "encourages" such things for you? Difference chart patterns, leverage ???
