My point was that in our culture, mocking Jesus is not tolerated at all - that's the "reason" I was indicating (I'm not sure what you thought I meant). I don't remember a joke told in SI that mocked Jesus' redemptions. Ever.

The 72 Virgins reference is identical except that the religious figure is different. That smacks of hypocrisy. To say that someone on SI is always taking offense at something is to deny that there was an OFFENSE. It wasn't offensive to me, and I said so. It seemed insensitive to post it publicly without respect to who might read it. That's all I really had to say on the subject but will act as librarian for the Mocking Jesus Joke line.
