Niceguy,
Of course, I hope you are right, but I don't think is wise to underestimate Intel with their vast resources.
Also, I found this on X-bit:
About SiS330 Performance [6:25 pm] Gavric
Finally, we have received the first information about the supposed SiS330 performance, on which the Xabre chip line will be based. The information was given by the famous site The Inquirer. ;) Not too much is said, but still, it’s better than nothing…
So, it is reported, that during the CeBIT show SiS Company showcased its working SiS330 chip in A0 revision (according to the accepted practice, it’s the first working version of the chip). Together with a 1.8 GHz Pentium 4 CPU and SiS648 chipset (with DDR400 and AGP 8x support), the chip’s performance was “almost equal to GeForce4 MX440 and ATI Radeon 7500”. Instead of illustrations, the site published this photo of the system, which doesn’t show anything concrete.
Besides, the site says, that according to SiS reports, almost three hundred games were tested for compatibility with the chip, and it was concluded, that switching to AGP 8x mode increases SiS330 performance by 10% (i.e. AGP 4x use may, consequently, decrease the performance).
If true, ATI could have serious competition with their IGP chipset.
