Relax? I'm finding it increasingly impossible to relax and 'trust...

...the Resident' with every astonishing passing day, when, with great to-do and global press coverage, the White House proposes in stong language to reduce privacy rights -- freedom of speech, included -- for the citizens of this country, while restricting media and public access to information that would reveal their corruption in the executive branch.

How do you like this newest 'proposal,' Ann? ...

... from the trustworthy resident of the White House, which affects your future health care insurance -- that's the key, I think -- for the Bush family's fellow imperialists running the health care industry in this country.

Seems to me that the fewer rights patients have, the more power those 'noble, trustworty, patriotic CEOs of the health insurers will have over who, how, why and precisely what it costs will receive treatment.

And/or be 'permitted' to purchase health insurance.

Front page in today's Austin American-Statesman (which is the mainstream newspaper here - NYT dateline)):

Headline: Bush seeks to drop rule in patient privacy law

austin360.com

<<snip>>

<<Rep. Edward Markey, D-Mass., said, "By stripping the
consent requirement from the health privacy rule, the Bush
administration strips patients of the fundamental right to
give their consent before their health information is used or
disclosed. The administration's proposal throws the baby
away with the bath water."

and

<<The rules cover not
only paper records, but also computer files and oral
communications. >>

Does this news continue to 'reassure you' that your guy is making the right decisions for the rest of your life?
