This is off topic. I would like to thanks the US Commerce Department for proceeding with its softwood lumber antidumping tariff on Canadian producers. Seems fair that a nation such as the United States can preach the virtues of free trade and globilization and in the same breath support protectionist tariff's that will cost over 100,000 jobs in British Columbia alone. For all of you not familiar with Canada, that is the most western province in Canada.
September 11th was a time for countries like ours to become closer culturally, socially, and economically while respecting each others right to sovereignty. But how a few months can change the tone of our "friendship." The longest unprotected border in the world is no longer protected now that Canada has lost billions of dollars of revenue because the strong dollar policies of your government make it almost impossible to compete with non domestic exporters of goods and commodities. But you will pay a gold nickel for our natural gas that you absolutely need.

I hope every American citizen with a heart that beats is disgusted at how their government has set arbitrary rules for trade that will ultimately favour keeping Americans working for more money, and leaving the rest of world working for less and less every year. I feel sorry for American citizens who do NOT get proper and impartial media coverage on events of the world that will affect their children and those after them.

Softwood lumber? What's that you say? Does it come with a web browser? No. But it does support hundreds, maybe thousand of communities in Canada that will now wither away into oblivion. Hey, look at the bright side, cheap property and businesses for sale in Canada.

The 51st state is born.
