Pakistan Day
dawn.com
Extract
What has not changed is the bleakness of the life of the ordinary people and the monotony of the political landscape.

JPR's note:
The extract from Dawn means the following:
Let us celebrate pakistan Day, a joyous day for God has blessed pakistan in full measure. God is with us for we can see His hand in every aspect of life in our dear country, which we all love. Ever since we became independent from the British Raj, blissfully became an Islamic republic and kicked the Hindu butt, we are in deep gratitude to the father of our nation, the gin-soaked string-bean dandy, who looks more like a scarecrow and a stick-walking clown...
Our land is flowing with blood and not with honey and milk; our treasury is bulging at the seams not with wealth, but with debt; our Madrasahs are training not science students but terrorism experts; our people are killing muslims --not the Hindus-- be they sunni, shiite, Ahamadias etc; our country is run by a mohajir who has some brains from his Hindu genes; our politicians line their pockets; our military jerks into power at the drop of a cap; our international standing is that of an arrogant demand-beggar; our destiny is in the hands of foreigners who respect our religion and sustain our economy; we are living in a heaven on earth of our own creation: Allah has nothing to do with it, because he gave up on us; it is written in the Koran that the Lord will send his Wrath on an unjust nation.
