Majority rules, minority howls
dawn.com
The RSS and its fatwa By Kuldip Nayar
Extract:
What is new is the warning to the Muslims that "their real safety lies in the goodwill of the majority". In other words, it matters little whether they are good citizens, wedded to the soil, or whether they abide by the Constitution and the laws of the land. But if they want to be secure, they have to be in the good books of Hindus.

JPR's note:
The Hindu Parivar encompassing RSS, VHP, Bajrang Dal etc is the product of the despicable and uninvited foreign domination of India. It is a truism that majority rules and the minority howls. It is in the nature of things that the majority inflict their will upon the minority anywhere in the world. Right or wrong is not the issue here, though that should be the case; what is legal, moral and constitutionally-approved should guide and dictate the behavior of the majority and the minority; the minority in India, though constitutionally secular, has the extra burden of getting along with the majority for the majority has no hesitation to dole out violence for violence and add to it in good (or bad) measure as vengeful bonus, which is meant to reinforce the expectation of good behavior from the minority. There is no way that this reality is going to change in India. As Rodney King observed in his wisdom, let us all try to get along.
