Good on you, for once, at least in part. Your acknowledgment and argument belie nearly everything you've said about Bush, oil, and the U.S. war against terrorism.

Ever since the first energy "Crisis" of 1973, a crisis created in response to Israeli aggression against Arab states, the U.S. has been trying with quite a bit of success to curtail the cartel power of OPEC. This will be a constant theme of U.S. foreign policy for the foreseeable future.
