It's like me to consider the opposing view and I suppose it is correct to say that I'm not reading mainstream material. But about Finkelstien, his argument slamming Joan Peters (wideley accepted) interpretation of the history leading up to and beyond 48 - 49, gets wide support and Peters has been criticized elsehwhere by Jewish scholars and then by something I just read by Christopher Hitchens. There are two histories here, I've read a quote from Ben Gurion where he say unequivoally that there were no forced removal of Arabs, but I've heard too many eye witness accounts to the contrary, to believe his firm assertion. Also you say 200,000 Arabs exited the region, Hitchen quoting IDF sources says about 391,000. So recommend two books on 48 - 49, that you say gives an accurate portrayal of history and I will read them.
