If everything goes into the same big pot, it's not a lot of work. Although the chicken stock is kind of a lot of work. I do a soup over a couple of days, stock first, so I can skim off most of the fat. And I listen to a tape whenever I cook so I sort of zone out. N helps with the peeling. And if you consider how many meals are essentially prepared when you've finished making, like, three gallons of soup, and pro rate the work over the meals-produced, it's not a lot.
Sandwiches are good, too, even for supper, imo. With a salad.
I don't leave him frozen dinners except in an emergency.
Your wife is lucky, even if frozen din dins are involved. My hubby taught me how to cook and then, oddly, simply forgot how! How could such a thing be? I do not know.
You know I'm hungry or I wouldn't be obsessing on food.
Tonight it's orange roughy from Zabars, takeout, in this vivid yellow sauce with sprinkled chives. |
