Hey great link, thanks Will! AlGaN alloy is useful for UV optical devices because of its wide bandgap and direct transition emission between 3.4eV and 6.2eV That'd do it. It's a direct jump. That's convenient. Since AlN is a piezoelectric maybe the energy can be modulated with an electric field? SOunds like a lot of work still needs to be done on it. Have I got a deposition process for them <VBG>. JF
