Stock indexes closed lower Friday, fulfilling the short-term S&P put volume sell signal from Wednesday and the weekly AAII sell signal from March 15th. The QQV/VXN divergence sell signal also went off the sheets with a loss. For the week, the S&P500 fell 1.5% and the Nasdaq100 fell 1.7%. Importantly, this coming week is the last full week of March, and that means quarterly 'window dressing' will be in effect. This is an important 'seasonal' cycle to understand, because it can often trump other technical indicators due to the massive amount of money involved. Consider this fact: Over the past three years, the S&P500 has dropped roughly 10%. Yet an investor who had bought the S&P500 only during the last full week of each quarter would have pulled in a profit of 18%...
