A colleague went to the Russian Far East to help with reforestation. They helped to build a new greenhouse in which to grow tree seedlings. The Russians were very reluctant to start building the greenhouse and said it was too difficult and would take many months. My colleague and others convinced the Russians that they would be paid (with American money, of course). The greenhouse was built in two weeks.
