Dear Joseph: Following the links looks like I started something. haha. As to all the replies, I would remind everyone that the actual ground fighting ended in 100 hours, going only from memory, I seem to remember that the local commanders were BEGGING for another 24 hours to finish off Saddams Republican Guard and armor. Had we done just that maybe the IRAQI people themselves would have taken care of Saddam. As to the UN they cant find the toilet in 24 hours let alone discuss something IMPORTANT. So, I dont think they would have been much of a hindrance. What I like about the current George Bush is he has the good sense to let the local commanders have more say in how they carryout his POLICY. His administration doesnt appear to me to be trying to micromanage combat forces. Maybe he learned from his Dad's mistakes. George Senior was a nice guy but IMHO to prone to take the HIGH ROAD sometimes. jdn
