MDC- M.D.C. to exceed Q1 earns estimates (MDC) By Tomi Kilgore M.D.C. Holdings (MDC) said it expects first-quarter earnings to exceed the high-end of analyst expectations. Analysts surveyed by Thomson Financial/First Call are expecting earning of 86 to 96 cents a share, with an average of 91 cents. The homebuilder said it benefited from favorable weather conditions, which accelerated the closing of certain homes. The stock closed Friday up 96 cents at $42.94.
