Zoid, while I remain invested in ALYD, I should say that Federal Govt is far from unaware the problem. After doing some research in this area via the internet, I concluded that the approach which many Federal Agencies are taking is to simply upgrade their software to the current version. The Federal Y2K web-site has a huge list software which is in use within the Federal Govt, and detailed information is posted re whether or not each software product is Y2K compliant, and at what version it became compliant, or will become compliant. Computer Associates software is very popular in the Federal sector, and the vast majority of the CA software is now Y2K compliant.
Certainly there is lots of custom code out there, but it's not like everyone is oblivious to the problem. For example, the Social Security Administration has already brought their systems to Y2K compliancy.

PS - I was going to post the Fed Govt Y2K home page, but the site is down for maintenance as of this afternoon. It is supposed to be back up by the end of the day tomorrow, so if you would like to have the link, e-mail me, and I will send it to you.
