Then I would like to think that if someone comes along and runs on the get tough with immigration etc ticket, he might have a chance of winning in the next election. Illegals serve no useful purpose in a society, they hurt it. Wages are kept lower than they should be because of them, and they pose a danger to society. They drain resources. Legal immigrants on the other hand, are an asset to societies generally, because they are starting out doing things the right way. They obey the laws right from the start. They don't have to take jobs at less pay under the threat of deportation.
