gee, maybe bush is looking out for the american lumber working stiff. did that ever cross your mind? maybe he wants to buy a house too, but his job is headed abroad due to free trade. apparently you aren't interested in the millions of americans whose jobs and communities have been destroyed by free trade. according to you their livelihood should be sacrificed on the global altar of free trade so you and other consumers can go further into debt while feeding your addictions to cheap imports.

>> or the Lumber Giant. <<

oh my, the hypocrisy. when bush imposes tariffs it's inevitably because he wants to support domestic big business interests. when free traitors lower tariffs, it's always for the greater good -- the consumers. politicians who vote for free trade agreements wouldn't dream of pandering to large multinational campaign contributors like ford and ibm who have abandoned the american worker in the name of profits -- by now employing more workers abroad than here in the states. never mind the fact that lowering tariffs doesn't necessarily mean lower prices for consumers any more than raising tariffs results in higher prices for the consumer.
