Dan,

I have "questions" regarding Market Share.

I assume that market share data is calculated when AMD and Intel ship a uP. This could lead to "channel stuffing", an allegation an Analyst made to Intel about a year ago. That is the way marketshare is calculated (I think). But, do Ford, GM, etc. calculate their marketshare by the number of cars "shipped" to their dealers? I don't think so.

Therefore, can you imagine if market share was calculated by box sales? What a headache.

While I would love for Intel to start announcing ASPs and uP shipments, I think too many investors focus on "market share". To me, market share don't mean diddly since it is Earnings growth, or the expectation of earnings growth, that will cause a company's stock price to appreciate.
