Infonet Services Corporation (NYSE:IN; FSE:IN), a leading provider of global communications services for multinationals, today announced it has been awarded a three-year multi-service contract by Forbo Switzerland, the market-leading global manufacturer of floor coverings, adhesives and belting, to provide the sole network infrastructure requirements for Forbo's migration from a multi-provider business model into a single-provider global business strategy. The initial contract period for this agreement is three years.

Forbo's attractive product portfolio has earned the company a market-leading position and a well-respected reputation around the globe. With more than 5,200 employees worldwide and an international network of 22 production companies in 12 countries, a homogeneous communication network is a key factor for Forbo to retain its leadership position.

By changing its business model from a multi-provider approach to a single-provider strategy, Forbo sought out a network provider to facilitate a corporate-wide global application rollout while simultaneously enabling Forbo to achieve its strategic business objectives. The centralized management of, for instance, standardized Enterprise Resource Planning applications (ERP) as well as the implementation of a content management system for Internet and Intranet, were key factors in choosing the service provider. In addition, Forbo required a vendor who could offer global seamless network coverage, proactive end-to-end management and a professional local support organization.

In support of its global initiative to migrate into e-business solutions, Forbo conducted a bidding review for network service providers and chose Infonet to implement a customized solution to meet the organization's specific future needs in the area of Wide-Area-Network business (WAN).

``During the first year, our overall objective is to install and integrate more than 100 sites worldwide to set the stage for further global network services. We selected Infonet for their ability to bring together our local managed applications and networks while streamlining costs and ensuring consistency of service,'' said Dietmar J. Bohm Uhlmann, Chief Information Officer at Forbo.

``Multinationals like Forbo require their communications technology to support strategic initiatives, maximize ROI and manage their costs. We are pleased to provide Forbo with a communications infrastructure to power all their network needs and maximize their investment in enterprise-class applications,'' commented Joseph Nancoz, Chief Executive Officer of Infonet Switzerland.
