"I hope you don't think that I will forget your prediction of future .13u Intel processors with 90-120 idle watts. It's what I like to call a "logical pearl"."

If you lack certain thinking abilities, I am very sorry
for you. You clearly cannot discern between "prediction"
and plain observation. And the plain observation was
that at the current state of Intel's 0.13 process
technology, as recently reported on Dec.2001,
the P4s above 2200MHz suffer from huge leakage
currents, and therefore cannot be immediately turned
into mass product. That was a deduction from the
vague presentation slides, side effect of them, which
might be visible only to persons with certain abilities.

Whether the process can be significantly improved to
overcome this difficulty, I do not know, that's why
I am digging into experts to understand the underlying
issues. So far there is an obvious gap between known
reasons and reality.

However, I also need to mention that there is another
gap, between management wishes, and engineering reality.
Let me remind you about the "success" of 1.13G P-III in
0.18um technology.
