The wasteful driving habits of the public could change a lot if we had an administration that conservation was the patriotic thing to do. Absolutely, in a New York minute... Even in California, within ONE MONTH energy usage dropped 17% when the governor asked residents to cut back. It's still down over 10%. Not only would this reduce dependence on Bush Inc's Saudi partners, it would reduce the price of gasoline for everyone, and boost the economy, create more jobs etc. It would indeed be a patriotic thing for the president to do, to challenge Americans on ways to economize on oil. Unfortunately, it wouldn't be in favor of Big Oil. I guess we all have our priorities.
