V.MOA and T.EET,...

NR states the grade at 1.60 carats per hundred tonnes at an average value of US$400 per carat. That's US$6.40 per tonne gravel processed which is likely not economic.

Keep in mind also that not all gravel gives diamonds. The gravel they are looking for is located in areas of the river bed that served to trap diamonds (turns of the river, potholes etc.,) One area may have diamonds of economic grade,...another accumulation of gravels may have far less to nothing.

This kind of mining needs to find the rare big chunkers that can significantly blow the value per carat through the roof. The question is,...will it happen often enough?
