Sorry- let me rephrase- it's not their FIRST priority. Getting rid of Israel is definitely more important for most. Look how much of that money gets spent on international terrorism!

Z, you may be right but I think that's a small part of it. At times it must look like the Palestinians are more into bombs than anything else but like most feuds, I think land disputes and economics was more at the root of this one. You mention that the problems between Israel and Palestine have worsened in recent years. Well, that makes sense......the economic disparity between the two groups has grown dramatically in the last ten years since the Israelis got into technology in a big way. Technology, coupled with aid from the US, have made it possible for the Israelis to make good economic strides during the 90's in spite of their large military expenditures.

But let me make clear, I don't think economic parity will solve all problems nor do I think that racial/religous hatred has nothing to do with the strife between Israel and Palestine but I do think less Palestinians would be inclined to blow themselves up if they thought they had a future.

Saying they are all nuts is to easy an out......humans, no matter their status or culture, share common traits......and its usually desperation that makes them fatalistic.
