To get higher gas standards would probably require less weight and smaller engines...this OK with you? It might also drop the price of the SUV.

re: price...we all pay more sales taxes for our more expensive toys. I own a BMW...is it worth 40+K? No. Is it more reliable than other cars? Definitely no. Should I have to pay $70 for a discounted oil change? NO. Does it drive better that other cars? Yes most , but not better than all. I had a Honda Prelude that I loved. So why did I buy it? Just status that's all....
