For my purposes less weight would be ok, but I would gladly pay more for the privilege of driving a larger automobile. And actually I think that has been done with the Honda and the Mercedes to name a few.

If everyone is in such a tizzy about it charge me more.

Just leave my choice of which vehicle to drive alone.

Our humanity and what we do with it is personal. It isn't a one size fits all world. I wouldn't ever tell someone what they can and cannot drive. Different lifestyles dictate what automobiles we drive. The guy that bags my groceries at my local supermarket doesn't even have a car, and we live in a community that is pretty spread apart. He and his wife use the bus everywhere they go. That is the lifestyle that they have chosen.

This claim that it is a status thing may be true for some, but not for others. We are all individuals. It is someone's idea of the one size fits all world that I don't want to live in.
