Re: stoves. I sure do love this ceramic top range made by Whirlpool. I know that some people don't like these stoves, but I sure do. So easy to keep clean. Burners heat up very quickly. Only things about them are that they could be dangerous if you are the kind of person who forgets that the stove is hot after using it because the burner areas go dark again as soon as the heat is switched off. Easy to forget that someone just cooked something on it. However, this one has a red warning light at the front to help make you aware that some burners might still be hot. Other drawback is if you are reckless about putting something very cold on top of a hot burner. The glass actually seems very shock resistant though. I'm always incredibly careful with it, but I had some visitors here who put pots of freezing cold water (water from our deep well) directly onto hot burners. I expected a big CRACK!!! when I saw them doing that, but nada... so it must be pretty tough stuff.
