What I am looking for are numbers showing Apple's LONG market share decline has at least slowed, if not started to rise. A few news comments mean little. Let's see numbers.
ok... news.com.com
Apple's U.S. computer market share in the fourth quarter was 3.1 percent, up from 2.4 percent a year earlier, according to IDC. For the year, the share remained steady at 3.9 percent compared with 2000. Worldwide, Apple's share rose to 2.2 percent from 1.9 percent fourth quarter to fourth quarter. But Apple lost share between 2000 and 2001, down to 2.6 percent from 2.9 percent.
i guess they mean, 2001 was a down year..... and 2002 is looking better with that last statement..... well duhhh.....
by the way, going from 2.4% to 3.1% is nearly 30% and this guy was wondering about 40% for the new iMac..... geesh, it's obvious this thing is selling to wintel people, so it is not a great leap from 30% in december to 40% after the iMac was introduced....
