Yes, in my area people are missing out on bids on houses and in some cases outbididing the ask price to get in.

still a long way away from the real estate bubble in the late 80's when people were buying houses and flipping them, like they have been doing that with stocks over the last # of years.

that's what has tempered this decline greatly vs the 90's retrenchment, there has been no real estate bubble,

and the fallacy bear argument, who think this is like 1929, because stock prices are overvalued.

most americans equity is wrapped up in their real estate and their ongoing jobs (still low unemployement), and only discretionary income is involved in the stock market.
